Good morning skiers and riders! The day our team has been working towards for the past 8.5 months has finally arrived and we are super stoked to kick off night skiing this evening with all of our friends and neighbors!
The new Sheehan Quad is ready for a full day of action and will spin from 9am – 9pm today! The apres-ski celebration starts at 4pm sharp with opening musician Lowell Thompson followed by fireworks, lights, and evening skiing/riding blasting off at 5pm. Our grand finale for the evening will feature local sensations the Neon Ramblers in the lodge from 6 – 8:30pm, so make plans now to join us for food, drinks, live music, fireworks, and night skiing/riding to kick off a spectacular season! Please note, we will shut down the Sheehan Chair at 4pm for an official ribbon cutting and re-open the chair with night lights immediately following the fireworks show.
For the day, mostly sunny skies with a high near 38 is expected. Windy conditions could be present throughout the day with a west wind 25 to 35 mph increasing to 36 to 46 mph in the afternoon. Please be aware wind holds could be possible today if we do see those gusts blowing in the next round of storms. Machine groomed and packed powder surfaces with 6 lift serviced trails will be open including the new discovery trail off the magic carpet Discovery Zone learning area, and the new Sheehan Quad will have 4 trails that are still skiing fantastic right now. Uphill skiers can continue to access additional terrain on natural surfaces, but please be aware that snowmaking and natural hazards exist, so please ski with a partner. Our snowmaking crews continue to make snow on the Allen to get the Worth Mountain Chair open as soon as we can!
Soup of the day will be making a comeback(!) along with daily specials, so be sure to check out our new cafe open daily at 8:30am with breakfast, homemade soups, smash burgers from local Cornwall Cattle Co., handcut fries and local beers to top it all off!
